John Bright Fencing was formed in 1982 by John and Bridget Bright and in 2003 their daughter Beth joined the family business. Initially erecting fences was the main part of the business, but in 1994 larger premises were purchased at Salway Ash, Bridport in Dorset allowing them to open a countrystore, this site also comprises of a workshop and acts as a base for the fencing teams employed by the company.

Fencing materials of all types are available, together with products manufactured by their carpenters in the workshop which includes a full range of gates and doors through to dog kennels and poultry houses.

From the countrystore anything can be purchased from a rabbit hutch to a pair of wellington boots... well worth a visit!

Gilyard Scarth was established in 1990 by founding Partner John Scarth, soon joined by Chartered Surveyors David Wheeler and Richard Keenlyside, each of whom had previously worked in the local area for many years.

The Firm rapidly expanded from its roots in Sherborne to cover all of North and West Dorset together with parts of South Somerset and South West Wiltshire. Plumber Manor is a fine Jacobean country house, located in the heart of Thomas Hardy's ‘vale of little dairies', one of the most beautiful parts of Dorset. It's so ‘far from the madding crowd', you could be excused for believing time is at a standstill and that Plumber Manor is the natural order of things.

Plumber is halfway between London and Cornwall and makes a lovely break in the journey west, especially for families. We are also half an hour from Poole for those travelling to France or the Channel Islands.

Inside this fine country house hotel, in fact more home than hotel, are 16 lovely rooms and a very fine restaurant; the atmosphere is relaxed and informal without a trace of pomposity. The impressive gallery upstairs, hung with huge family portraits, is typical of fine Jacobean houses of the period. In winter, guests really enjoy sitting in the warm glow of the wide, open fires, often lost in reverie, staring at the flickering flames.

Avalon is an elegant Edwardian townhouse at the centre of the historic monastic town of Sherborne. Although it has recently undergone extensive refurbishment and modernisation, the character and feel of the house has been preserved. Third Dimension Limited, a media development consultancy based in Dorset, is launching a contract management system at the Sage Connections Exhibition, Manchester (on stand 24), designed specifically to help managers manage their business effectively and simply.  Named the Contract Management System (CMS), the package allows managers to control the Company’s income and debtors outside the confines of traditional accountancy packages.  The CMS is part of a range of products Third Dimension Limited has developed including the Site Admin Suite, Timesheet System and Commission Tracker System.

Anthony Elliot-Square, Managing Director of Third Dimension Limited, explains: “CMS was designed in house by Third Dimension initially to organise the Company’s own invoicing.  After 10 years of steady business growth, I gradually found myself spending an agonising amount of time just managing income due to limitations presented on current accountancy packages.  As soon as Third Dimension started using the system it revolutionised the way we worked.  Never-ending hours of my time were saved so I could give more attention to our projects and strategic planning.”

CMS has many functions that are unique to the market.  Managers can control recurring invoices, request debtor reports and account statements, view contract history and status, auto and batch print invoices and task reminders.  Account managers can be assigned different levels of access to the system by the system controller, allowing more effective and up to date management of contracts.  CMS can be tailored to suit individual company needs, for example the package is currently links with Sage Line 50 but this can be changed to link with other accountancy software.

Incorporating the latest Windows XP user interface technology, as well as a state of the art 3D room planning feature, the Removals Task allows experimenters to devise a layout of furniture that must be cleared in a specified order by patients undertaking the task.

The project was developed using Visual C# .NET and our interactive 3D plug-in for Windows.

Yeovil’s web site www.yeoviltown.comis already well known for bringing more business to the town but few people know that it has also benefited St Margaret’s Hospice in Yeovil.

Anthony Elliot-Square explains: "As designers of the yeoviltown.com web site we were keen to include information about the fund raising appeal for the new hospice so that anyone wishing to support the appeal could do so easily. So far we have had £2,000 in donations and we are delighted that these have come through to us via the web site. It is a glowing example of the internet being used as it is meant to be - as a fantastic communications media."

Donations have been received from the staff of Wincanton Logistics and from a charity which arranges boat parties in London.

 Leo Hayward, Director of Fund-raising at St Margaret’s commented: "An additional £1 million per year needs to be raised to run and staff the Hospice in Yeovil so each donation is extremely important. We are delighted that www.yeoviltown.com has generated donations and our thanks go to Third Dimension for including the appeal on the web site and of course the fund-raisers for their wonderful generosity."

Following the success of its various Virtual Town Web Sites (see www.yeoviltown.com) and its Virtual Learning applications (see www.swgfl.org.uk) Third Dimension Limited decided to embark on an ambitious project to develop its own 3D viewer for the Internet. This viewer is Gigascape? and the prototype version is available at www.gigascape.com. This project resulted in a DTI Micro Smart Award, which was collected by Anthony Elliot-Square at the DTI Smart Award Presentations in London.

Third Dimension Limited is pleased to announce the launch of its own Web Site Content Management System, the Site Admin Suite. This system uses a very easy way of updating web sites on-line. This is a major expansion of our offering as it allows customers to maintain their web site regularly and efficiently. The interface is as easy to use as a word processor.
