Databases
We have extensive experience in developing websites and applications using databases. As technology has evolved we now recommend MS SQL rather than Microsoft Access as it is a more robust and stable platform.
The advantages of a data-driven website is that you can have a private administrative area that you can use to control the contents of your website or application. If you are a business that wishes to offer an e-commerce service to its customers, you can manage your stock and orders online. Through the administrative area your staff can ensure that the latest pricing and product information is always available for potential customers.
If you already have a database that you need a website developed around, we will be happy to inspect it and report on suitable ways to synchronise it with or replicate it to the website. Many large, established customers already have a database solution but need a powerful, stable e-commerce solution built around it.
Not all of our database work revolves around websites. Many extensive desktop applications, such as our own Time Management software, rely on a database backend that provides both security and reliability.
